East Texas wildflowers abound in the area. Wisteria, and Jasmine perfume the air as they open, and there are masses of color, from Crimson Clover to yellow Daffodils.
During each year's last full weekend in April we join with Hughes Springs and Linden to celebrate the wildflowers and spring with a festival. Avinger townfolk rejoice with tourists and other residents enjoying games, entertainment, a treasure hunt, food, other events, and a parade.
This year please join us on Saturday, April 27, 2013, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm for this wonderful event! We have a welcome center where you can buy game and children's event tickets, find out about the flowers, pick up a "T" shirt and see the other wonderful items for sale.
